Every online shop knows this

The goods are out. The money does not come back.

In online retail it is rarely the one big loss. It is the many small amounts that look too small to pursue on their own and, taken together, slow your growth. If your customer is abroad, a second hurdle is added: a different legal situation and different ways of serving documents. The incaseof.law study on tied-up capital shows how much is left lying around: 194.9 billion euros in the claims of Austrian companies, evaluated across 149,916 limited companies, as of 2026.

Many small amounts, no time for them

Every single invoice purchase looks too small for a reminder of its own. Together they are the turnover your shop is missing at the end of the month.

Delivered, but never paid

The return is announced and never arrives, the goods stay with the customer, and nobody answers your payment reminder.

Chargeback instead of payment

The amount is charged back although the parcel was delivered. The invoice stays open, and the work stays with you.

In brief

How does debt collection work for online shops?

In debt collection for online shops, retailers hand unpaid invoice purchases in bulk to a licensed debt collection institute that enforces them. At incaseof.law you upload many items in one step, by list or through the interface. The debtor in default bears the default costs, so in 2026 100% of the claim stays with the shop.

How it works

How the bulk handover works

In three steps from hundreds of unpaid invoice purchases to the payout. You hand over in bulk, incaseof.law takes over the rest. See how the handover of your claims works in detail.

1

Upload the invoice purchases

Upload your unpaid invoice purchases as a list or connect your shop and your accounting. Hundreds of items in one step, without single entries.

In about 3 minutes
2

We enforce

As a licensed debt collection institute confirmed by the OGH, incaseof.law calls on your customers to pay in a factual tone, digitally and by post, out of court and only in court where that is needed.

Out of court first
3

Payout to your account

After a successful collection incaseof.law pays out, 100% per invoice purchase, without deductions for you. You see the status of every single item in the dashboard.

Paid out in full

A case from online retail

340 unpaid invoice purchases. This is how the bulk file runs through.

After the Christmas season 340 invoice purchases stay open, 180 euros on average, many of them from consumers. You hand over the list in one step, the way you submit any unpaid claim, and incaseof.law enforces it factually and with legal certainty.

  • One bulk list instead of 340 single cases. You upload, incaseof.law takes over from the first demand.
  • A factual tone towards consumers, with an instalment solution instead of escalation.
  • 100% per collected invoice purchase, without deductions. The default costs are borne by the debtor.

What our clients say

From conflicting goals to seamless cooperation.

After seeing the incaseof.law demo, I immediately cancelled the contract with our previous debt collection provider. We were able to settle the first two five-figure claims within a few days. After that we connected to incaseof.law directly via REST API.

I am incredibly grateful to InCase of Law. The whole process was extremely simple and worked entirely without any direct communication effort. I only uploaded my invoice, and within the first hour the first reminder had already gone out. What had cost me over a month of frustration, chasing and unanswered messages was resolved by InCase of Law within one day: my entire principal claim was paid the very next day. I can recommend the service without reservation and will definitely use it again for future outstanding claims. Many thanks for the fast and professional support!

Yes. incaseof.law enforces claims against companies and against private customers. In online retail the majority of unpaid invoice purchases are consumer transactions. The tone stays factual, and where payment in instalments makes sense, incaseof.law offers it.
There is no minimum amount. An invoice purchase of 30 or 50 euros can be handed over too, because the debtor in default bears the default costs and the effort per single case is taken off your desk. In online retail it is not the single amount that counts, but the sum of many open items.
There is no upper limit and no minimum volume. You hand over ten or several hundred invoice purchases in the same step, as a bulk list or automatically through the interface. The volume changes neither the process nor your costs.
A chargeback reverses a payment that has already been made, through the payment service provider. An unpaid invoice is a payment that never happened. incaseof.law enforces open claims from invoice purchases, including where an amount was charged back after the goods were delivered.
The default and debt collection costs are borne by the debtor in default. You keep 100% of your principal claim, there is no commission deducted from the amount collected and no minimum amount per invoice purchase.
Yes. You upload your unpaid invoice purchases as a bulk list or hand them over automatically through the REST API from your shop system and your accounting. A connection is possible, but it is not required for the start.
Yes. incaseof.law is licensed as a debt collection institute in Austria and Germany and enforces claims throughout Europe, even where your customer is not based in Austria. For online shops, cross-border selling is the normal case, so you hand over foreign cases in the same step as domestic ones, without a separate list. Which law applies in the individual case, and how documents are served, is clarified by incaseof.law before the first payment request.
