What is the difference between receivables management software and incaseof.law?
Receivables management software manages open items and sends reminders, you operate it yourself and keep collecting the claim alone. incaseof.law is not a tool to do it yourself, it is an API that hands overdue claims to a licensed debt collection institution automatically. Instead of a license fee, you receive 100% of the principal claim into your account.
Does incaseof.law offer a debt collection API or REST API?
Yes. Via the REST API and native connectors, open claims are handed to the licensed debt collection automatically, with no manual upload. Creating claims, retrieving statuses and receiving status changes via webhook are all covered by the API.
Are there webhooks for status changes?
Yes. Every status change, from handover through the out-of-court stage to the payout, runs back into your system via webhook. This keeps your ERP the single source of truth, without you having to check a second portal.
Which systems and ERPs are supported?
SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, sevDesk, DATEV and Odoo via prebuilt connectors, as well as any other system via the REST API. An integration is also provided for the DATEV-based processes of your accounting.
How does onboarding work?
You choose your level: single upload starts immediately, the connector is paired with your system, and you connect the API using the documentation. To set up an integration and a test access, get in touch via the contact form. How to commission a first claim is shown on the Start debt collection page.
How secure is the data handover, and is it GDPR-compliant?
Claim data is handed over encrypted through the API, with no file in the mail and no open export. The recipient is a licensed debt collection institution regulated in Austria and Germany. The handover follows a vetted, officially approved framework, so that sensitive debtor data is processed in a protected way too.
Is this suitable for high claim volume?
Yes. The connector hands over rule-based once a deadline is exceeded, the API allows batch handovers of large volumes. You start small and grow to direct integration without switching systems. More than 1,000 companies already use incaseof.law.
How is it billed?
Your principal claim stays with you in full. The cost of collection arising from the default is borne by the debtor. There is no license on a tool and no deduction from the principal claim.
Does this work in Austria and Germany?
Yes. incaseof.law is a licensed debt collection institution in both markets, court steps run over electronic legal communication and the approach is confirmed by the Austrian Supreme Court (OGH).
