Case creation and claim submission

Case creation records a claim in a handling system, typically including parties, basis, amount, dates and supporting documents. A saved record is not a court filing or automatically an accepted collection instruction.

Engagement and acceptance are governed by the terms.

Distinguish the concepts

Registration, draft, submitted claim and acceptance are different states. A successful API response must be read according to its documented meaning; it does not establish every subsequent check. Accounts should link the local invoice to the correct external case and avoid duplicate handling.

Jurisdiction and scope

Austrian and German claims need the relevant facts: basis, performance, maturity, default, payments and known objections. incaseof.law’s terms govern regular eligibility and acceptance. Existing titles or insolvency proceedings must be disclosed rather than omitted from handover.

Illustrative business example

A EUR 3,000 invoice receives EUR 600 shortly before upload. The business reconciles the export with bank records and supplies the current balance and receipt. After submission, it links the case reference to the accounting item. Later direct payments are reported to that case instead of creating another one.

Common questions

What should the record include?

Correct parties, basis and remaining amount, dates, performance evidence, correspondence and payments.

Is a saved draft an instruction?

Not merely because it was saved. The actual submission and contractual acceptance matter.

What about a repeat upload?

First check whether a case reference already exists. Correct or supplement that case through the appropriate route.
